Elaine Ranker Monsen (1935-2014) was a Professor Emeritus at the University of Washington, where she worked for over five decades. She established the Nutrition Studies Committee at the University of Washington’s graduate school and served as the Director of the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program (IGP) in Nutritional Sciences between 1994-1998.
In addition to her work at the University of Washington, Monsen was the Editor-in-chief for the Journal of the American Dietetic Association from 1983-2003 and as editor Emeritus in the years following.
