Elvin G. Ericson was born in 1910 in Ironwood, Michigan. He received his B.S. (1948) and M.S. (1955) from Washington State College. His teaching career at W.S.U. extended from 1947 through 1975. As a member of the civil engineering faculty, Professor Ericson was the coordinator of the Annual Road Builders Clinic held on the W.S.U. campus beginning in 1950.

The Elvin G. Ericson papers are principally his files concerning the Annual Road Builders Clinic held on the Washington State University campus beginning 1950 and continuing through 1975. The papers include clinic agendas, reports, memos, industry materials, correspondence, and published clinic proceedings. The folders are arranged chronologically, each folder devoted to one annual conference.
