Biography of Anthony A. Kline

Anthony A. Kline (1888-1972) was a 20th century playwright, screenwriter, and scenario writer for U.S. Army Signal Corps training films. He attended Harvard College and Cambridge and in 1917 he received a U.S. Army commission, serving until 1920.
When he returned home, Kline wrote a play that was produced in the Hudson Theater of New York and in 1929 he was contracted with a Hollywood studio writing screenplays that included: "The Racketeer," "What a Man," and "Rich People." Kline was called back into service with the Army Air Force
where he developed a leadership magazine and helped to set up the Public Information Office for the Eleventh Air Force. When the Eleventh Air Force was deactivated in 1948, he joined the Army Signal Corps Pictorial Center writing scenarios for training films until retirement 12 years later.
