      <abstract encodinganalog="5203">Materials related to William W. Davies, who arrived in Walla Walla, Washington in 1867 and established a religious colony, the Davisite Kingdom of Heaven. There, his son became the "Walla Walla Jesus" and Davies became known as "The Holy Ghost" and referred to himself as the "Voice of God". The colony existed until 1881 when legal judgments against Davies forced a sheriff's sale of the property.</abstract>

      <p>The collection consists of newspaper clippings and photocopies of depositions, court testimony and judgments. There are photocopies of letters, offering receipts, and articles written by Davies in his role as leader of the religious community. Magazine articles and an academic paper about Davies and the Davisite Kingdom of Heaven are also included.</p>
