The Arabian American Oil Company (Aramco) was founded by the Standard Oil Company of California in 1933 and quickly grew in the United States to include various other U.S. oil companies after oil was found in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia in 1938. The company has been known as Saudi Aramco since 1988 when the Saudi Arabian government took control and renamed it.
Collection contains a booklet titled “Middle East Development;” a filmstrip and education kit titled “You Discover Saudi Arabia;” a set of Aramco World periodicals covering 1959 to 1969; and a speech titled “Saudi Arabia: Answer to the Energy Question?”
There are no access restrictions on the materials for research purposes, and the collection is open to the public.
