      <abstract encodinganalog="5203_">Lawrence Schoenhals was the director of choirs at Seattle Pacific College from 1940 to 1968 and directed the School of Music from 1946 to 1968. His choirs performed for the Light and Life Hour, a religious radio program that was recorded and broadcast from the campus of Seattle Pacific from 1945 to 1965. The recordings in this collection include several broadcasts of the Light and Life Hour, the Seattle Pacific A Capella Choir and the Seattle Pacific Oratorio Society singing "Messiah," "Elijah," "The Creation," and "A German Requiem."</abstract>

      <p>This collection contains audio recordings, programs and musical scores. The recordings are of the Seattle Pacific College (now Seattle Pacific University) Oratorio Society and A Cappella Choir. Some of the recordings were broadcast on the Light and Life Hour or local radio.</p>
