Steve Cook lost his right leg in a farm below the knee in a 1988 farm accident.  In 1990 Steve Cook began mountain biking racing switching to cycling in 1993.  He raced in the 1996 Summer Paralympics placing fifth in the velodrome and seventh in the road race.  In 1995 Steve Cook began cross country skiing as a cross-training device and has become one of the premier standup ski racers.</abstract>

      <head>Biographical Sketch</head>
      <p>Steve Cook lost his right leg in a farm below the knee in a 1988 farm accident.  In 1990 Steve Cook began mountain biking racing switching to cycling in 1993.  He raced in the 1996 Summer Paralympics placing fifth in the velodrome and seventh in the road race.  In 1995 Steve Cook began cross country skiing as a cross-training device and has become one of the premier standup ski racers.</p>

      <item>2005 World Cup standup champion</item>
