      <p>Frederick James Pack (b. 1875) was a professor of minerology and geology at Brigham Young University during the first part of the twentieth century. He was also a student and professor at the University of Utah. He married Sadie Grant.</p>

    <scopecontent encodinganalog="5202_">
      <p>The Frederick J. Pack papers (circa 1907-1950) consist of an article written by Pack (b. 1875), his autobiography, family genealogical materials, family biographies, and publications. The article supports the idea that horses existed on the American continent before Columbus and the Spainards. This idea was contrary to contemporary thought at the time.</p>
