Biography of Dwight M. Cleveland

Dwight M. Cleveland was a world-renowned movie poster collector known for his extensive and significant collection of Hollywood movie posters.
Born in 1958, Cleveland developed an interest in movie posters during his time at the Brooks School in North Andover, Massachusetts, inspired by his art teacher who was also a collector.
He began collecting in 1977 and became recognized as an expert on the history of film posters as advertising. Cleveland curated numerous poster exhibitions and authored the book
“Cinema on Paper: The Graphic Genius of Movie Posters” in 2019. He served as an associate visual cultural curator at Dartmouth University, amassing a collection of more than 3,000 posters
and related cinematic ephemera by focusing on the best films, actors, actresses, and directors in Hollywood history.
