The collection consists of 22 reels of 8mm film, created approximately between 1960
and 1969 by Howard Halpin and his first wife, Lena. Subjects include: farming and
life on the Halpin farm, located on the Moscow–Pullman highway about 4.5 miles east
of Pullman. Explosions from when a company blasted the land to create a gravel mine
after part of the property was sold. Scenes of the Halpin family and relatives on
the farm, in Pullman, and in Renton. Travel scenes from the region.

The collection comes with copies of nine handwritten pages of summary notes of the
film contents, written by Bill Arundell, and copies of 30 handwritten pages from a
small spiral notebook again summarizing the film contents, believed to be written by
Lena Halpin. Some labeling is also on the individual canisters.

Each of the reels of films are in individual canisters, numbered by the donor. Reels one
through 16 are in 5” canisters (an expected 12-14 minutes each if full), 17 to 22
