P0440 Sylvia Eugene Nilsen photograph collection 1920s-1970s 66 photographs The majority of the Sylvia Eugene Nilsen photograph collection consists of photographs of treaty signings and other diplomatic events from the 1950s to 1972. There are some photographs of her childhood and of members of her family. Collection materials are in English.

Miss Nilsen was an attorney assigned to the Deputy Assistant Legal Advisor at the Office for Treaty Affairs in the U.S. State Department, from 1941-1975. Photographs include her childhood and career. Many notable dignitaries are in this collection, such as presidents Eisenhower and Nixon.

Twenty-four hour advanced notice encouraged. Materials must be used on-site. Access to parts of this collection may be restricted under provisions of state or federal law.
