		  research into San Martin Mextec and whistle speech and about the founding of
		  the town of Ahuejutla</abstract></did><bioghist encodinganalog="5450_" id="a2"><p>Andrew Hedding is a sixth year Ph.D. student (2022) in linguistics at
		  the University of California, Santa Cruz. He is a theoretical syntactician and
		  fieldworker, with a particular interest in information structure. His
		  dissertation is about the displacement of foci in San Martín Peras Mixtec.
		  Additionally, in ongoing work with Ben Eischens, they investigate the effects
		  of animacy on resumptive pronoun use in San Martín Peras Mixtec.</p><p>Ben Eischens is a fifth-year PhD candidate (2022) in Linguistics at
		  the University of California, Santa Cruz. His research focuses primarily on
		  phonology and on its interface with phonetics in San Martín Peras Mixtec.
		  Eischens is working with Andrew Hedding on the effects of animacy on resumptive
		  pronoun use in San Martín Peras Mixtec.</p></bioghist><scopecontent><p>This collections contains notes and sound recordings about San Martin
		  Mextec made by Andrew Hedding and Ben Eischens in Ahuejulta, Mexico from August
		  22 to September 2, 2019. Includes a flash drive with audio recordings, digital
		  copies of field notes, and digital copies of transcriptions of narrative told
		  in Mextec and a conversation about whistle speech. Also includes physical
		  copies of the field notes and conversations. The narrative is told by Juan
		  Gracida Ortiz and is about the founding of the town of Ahuejutla. </p></scopecontent><odd encodinganalog="500" id="a5"><p>Forms part of the Jacobs Research Fund collection.</p></odd><phystech><p>Digital media is closed until evaluated. </p></phystech><accessrestrict><p>Access to the materials in this collection for the purpose of reading,
		  copying, or other use will be granted only with the donor's permission within
		  25 years of the date of the Jacobs Research Fund award. After 25 years, the
