      <p>In 1831 Benjamin Adair purchased this account book in New Orleans. During the year of 1831 Adair traveled 
				extensively in the United States and Canada. In 1832 and 1833 he traveled across the Atlantic to Ireland 
				and England. The journal documents his income and daily expenses during these travels.</p>
