			<p>The Delta Society has its origins in the Delta Foundation, established in 1977 in
				Portland, Oregon in 1977. In 1981, the name was changed to the Delta Society, and
				Leo Bustad, a Washington State University faculty member and veterinarian, became
				its president. In 2012, well after the latest-dated materials in this collection,
				the name was changed to Pet Partners. The organization's main focus is on the
				human-animal bond. </p>

			<p>This collection consists of records of the Delta Society. It includes materials
				related to membership, conferences, chapters of the society, and publications. </p>
			<p>MS.1995.29 (44 boxes). Note: access to this accession is restricted. MASC staff
				review is required prior to researcher use of the materials. This accession
				comprises the bulk of the collection, and includes chapter materials, financial
				records, membership records, conference records, and materials related to society
				programs and activities. </p>

				circa 1995-1996. </p>
