research on Nɬeʔkepmxcin (Thompson River Salish)Karsten Koch is an instructor in the Linguistics Department at the
University of Alberta. In 2010 he received funding from Jacobs Research Fund to
study Ntlakyapamuk (Thompson River Salish) discourse. He received his Ph.D.,
Linguistics from the University of British Columbia, and his research has
looked at Salishan, First Nations and Polynesian linguistics.

and materials for elicitations, from 2005-2006. Three DVDs and a final report
are from a second research grant investigating intonation and discourse
prominence in conversations in Thompson River Salish from 2007-2008. Also
contains five CDs, transcripts, and a final report from a third research grant
investigating first and second person conversations in Thompson River Salish
from 2009-2010.
Recordings include first and second person conversations in
Thompson Salish. Transcriptions and reports include nominal modification in
Thompson River Salish with transcriptions from field recordings and materials
for Flora and Patricia elicitations in March and April 2006, Basic Word Order
final report with transcripts of recordings, and First and Second Person
Conversations in Thompson Salish 2009 final report with transcripts of
recordings. Projects were funded by awards from the Jacobs Research Fund.
