The Pullman Community Hospital Corporation (PCHC), in collaboration with Washington State University, funded the construction of a new hospital built by Eskaton, a non-profit organization which would also run Finch Memorial Hospital, built in 1928 on the Washington State College campus, in the interim. However, when the proposed new hospital was not completed, the current building was returned to the community and the University. While the PCHC was mainly responsible for operations, the land for the hospital was leased from the University. Finch Memorial Hospital continued to house both the community hospital and student health services until the new regional hospital was completed in 2004.
