            <head>Biography of William Zeckendorf</head><p>William Zeckendorf (1905-1976) was a prominent American real estate developer. Through his development company Webb and Knapp, Inc.—for which he began working in 1938 and which he purchased in 1949—he developed a significant portion of the New York City urban landscape. In the 1960s, Webb and Knapp filed for bankruptcy protection.</p>

            <head>Scope and Content</head><p>The collection contains fourteen pieces of correspondence for 1946 and 1968 (including items from Nelson A. Rockefeller); blueprints for a partially submerged garage at Robert R. Young Village, New York; and six magazine and newspaper articles about Zeckendorf.</p>
