The Tentacle was a print and online non-profit newsletter providing information on "non-mainstream creative music activity in the Pacific Northwest." Started as a weekly e-mail music listing, it expanded to a monthly paper edition in 1998. The Tentacle was produced by volunteers and distributed free of charge in Seattle, Portland, Olympia, Salem and Mt. Vernon. It featured music reviews, book reviews and essays on the local music scene.
