  	<head>Biography of Richard Roy Del Ruth</head><p>Richard Del Ruth was a television director and the son of film director Roy Del Ruth and actress Olive Simon Del Ruth. He was born in 1922 in Los Angeles, California, and attended the Black-Foxe Military Institute school. He joined the military in the 1940s and was stationed at the San Marcos Army Air Field in Texas until his discharge in 1944. In the 1950s and 1960s, he followed in his father's footsteps and assisted in directing movies and television shows. He was the assistant director for the 1959 film "The Cosmic Man" and the T.V. show "Lassie" from 1964-1972.</p>

  	<head>Scope and Content</head><p>This collection contains yearbooks from the Black-Foxe Military Institute in California (1934-1940); a memorial book of the San Marcos Army Air Field; drawings of Olive Simon Del Ruth; and photographs of Richard Del Ruth, Roy Del Ruth, and Olive Simon Del Ruth. Also included are some location and cast photographs of "Lassie" and photographs of the opening night of the motion picture "It Happened on 5th Avenue."</p>
