			<p>Superior Press was a Seattle, Washington, publisher that specialized in novels and
				non-fiction works, including Pacific Northwest pictorial histories and regional
				themed stories. The press was owned by Albert Salisbury, who also owned the related
				business Artcraft Engraving and Electrotype Company. In the 1980s, Superior Press
				came under the ownership of Darwin Publications of Burbank, California.</p>

			<p>This collection contains records of Superior Press of Seattle, Washington, between
				1969 and 1983. The collection primarily consists of correspondence, financial
				records, and promotional materials about books and authors connected to the press.
				The collection also contains corporate documents of Artcraft Engraving and
				Electrotype Company, between 1945 and 1978. </p>
			<p>Preliminary Inventory:</p>
			<p>Box 1: Financial records, primarily credit memos and deposit slips from 1981 and
				1982. Donor file.</p>
			<p>Box 2: Correspondence, advertisements, financial records, papers related to the book
				publishing industry, as well as photographs, recipes, and promotional materials for
				the Jackie Stone cooking show on KATU Channel 2 (1969-1970), between 1969 and 1980. </p>
			<p>Box 3: Bound volumes of payroll and accounts payable records, prepared financial
				statements (1979-1983), papers related to book reviews and authors (1970s), as well
				a copy of a book manuscript.</p>
			<p>Box 4: Correspondence, financial records, as well as media related publications
				including newspaper clippings, photographs (including one negative), and press
				releases, between 1971 and 1982.</p>
			<p>Box 5-6: Address book, correspondence, financial records, and catalogs pertaining to
				other publishing companies and related businesses (1975-1983); Box 6: Stock
				certificates for Superior Press, meeting minutes for Artcraft Engraving and
				Electrotype Company (1945-1978) as well as corporate papers and financial records
				for Artcraft Engraving and Electrotype Company.</p>
