Stroum Jewish Community CenterThe Stroum Jewish Community Center (SJCC) was founded in 1949 in
downtown Seattle for the enrichment of life for the Jewish and general
community in the greater Seattle area. SJCC now has two locations, its main
campus on Mercer Island and an Early Childhood School at Temple Beth Am in
Seattle’s North End. Initially incorporated as the Seattle Jewish Community
Center, it was renamed the Samuel and Althea Stroum Jewish Community Center of
Greater Seattle in 1982 after local philanthropists. The Center provides
programs, activities, classes, after school care, sports leagues, and holiday
celebrations for members.
Includes seasonal program pamphlets, community directories,
newsletters, flyers, and a chronology of Stroum Jewish Community Center
(1949-1989).
Forms part of the Washington State Jewish Archives.
Open to all users.
