Lammers and Eunice H. Campbell (Lammers). One of the included scrapbooks focuses on the four-day class boycott of 1930 relating to student freedoms. The two married after they both graduated and continued to collect personalized letters from Harriette Eliza Cushman (Extension Poultry Specialist 1922-1955) as Oliver was a fellow Extension Service employee.

Oliver Altman Lammers was born May 13th 1909 in Marrion, South Dakota. Later his family would move to Hedgesville, Montana, and he would attend Montana State College (now Montana State University), graduating in 1931 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agronomy. While at MSC, Oliver was an active member in the Alpha Gamma Rho agricultural fraternity. The MSC newspaper, the
Weekly exponent
(later
Montana exponent
and
MSU Exponent
), has a number of references to Oliver's (sometimes referred to as Ollie) academic accomplishments, social activities, and later career. He would go on to become the Special Agricultural Agent for Sheridan County, Montana, teach at Fergus County, Montana, High School, and then was appointed Assistant County Agricultural Agent for the Montana State University Extension Service, serving in various counties between 1935 and 1947. For four years, Oliver was Superintendent of the Huntley Montana Agricultural Research Station and then served as managing partner for the Lammers Home Ranch at Hedgesville, Montana from 1951 until his retirement in 1974.

Eunice H. Lammers (Cambell) was born in 1911 in Buffalo, Wyoming. She would go on to attend Montana State College, graduating in 1932. During her time at MSC, she was involved with the Pi Beta Phi fraternity for women. She married Oliver in 1936 in Wyola, Montana. Eunice passed away in 1992 in Yuma, Arizona. Oliver passed away in 2004 in Bakersfield, California.

During their time at MSC, the campus experienced a period of unrest, which is documented in the collection. In 1930, Dean Una B. Herrick determined that the curfew for female students on the weekend would be pushed up to 11pm (rather than the previous midnight curfew). This resulted in a four-day boycott of classes by the student body. The new rule was eventually upheld by the university president, Alfred Atkinson.

A small personal collection of items connected to campus life in the late 1920's and early 1930's by two (married) Montana State College alumni, Oliver A. Lammers and Eunice H. Campbell Lamers. The collection contains two scrapbooks, one of which heavily focuses on the student walkout in 1930 over new restrictive rules set for female students. The other scrapbook documents general student life on/around campus including student groups, faculty, buildings, activities surrounding the M Trail, and athletics. Both scrapbooks include the names of the persons/places in the photographs. The collection also contains memorabilia for campus events including dance cards and banquet invitations from 1928-1938.

Beyond their campus experience, the collection also includes personalized letters from Harriette Eliza Cushman (Extension Poultry Specialist 1922-1955).
