Marie Owsley (née Ortmann) was born in 1862 and married Wilhelm Boeing in the late 1870s. They had three children together—Gretchen, William, and Caroline. Wilhelm passed away in 1890 from influenza complications. Marie later remarried and moved to Virginia with her husband, Dr. Frederic Dillard Owsley. Mrs. Owsley passed away in 1910 at the age of 48. Her son William would go on to create the aerospace company bearing the family name and is recognized around the world today.

Letters, photographs, prayer books.

Incoming letters to William E. Boeing from his mother, Marie Boeing Owsley and several from his sister Caroline during his prep school and possible college years. The doctor referred to is her second husband. Photos (4) are unidentified portraits.
