      <p>Charles S. Baker and Eli Johnston ran a photographic studio in Evanston in the early
            1880s and are best known for a series of photographs of Shoshone, Arapahoe, and Apache
            Indians</p>

      <p>The Shoshone Indian portrait collection consists of three albumen images. Two of the
            images are unidentified, but one came from the photographers Charles S. Baker and Eli
            Johnston who ran a studio in Evanston, Wyoming. Baker &amp; Johnson are best known
            for a series of images of Shoshone, Arapahoe, and Apache Indians. The photographs date
            from the 1870s to the 1880's.</p>

            manual card catalog located in the Special Collections reading room in Merrill Library,
            and the George Ellsworth photo collection P0025. The prints are located in a document
            box that contains collections P0283-P0310.</p>
