The Sierra Madre Mountain Mining and Discovery Company was started by N.K. Boswell and incorporated in the State of Wyoming in 1897. The company was formed for the purpose of mining as well as the discovery of new mines and acquiring land and water rights, town and mill sites and real estate for the purposes of business expansion in towns across the state. Actual operations were confined to a mining venture in the Upper Platte Mining District, Carbon County, Wyoming. Company offices were located in Laramie, Wyoming.
The Sierra Madre Mountain Mining and Discovery Company Collection contains business records, including a company shares book, assay reports, correspondence, copies of the company's by-laws, meeting minutes, and receipts.
