of assay records (1905-1964) of the Washoe Sampler and an index (1920s-1960s) to financial
journals of the Anaconda Reduction Department. The assay records include numerical listings
by sample lot number and give the name of the mine/company and assay information including
ounces of copper, gold, and silver per ton of ore. Accompanying these records is an index by
mine/company giving lot number and date; and assay cards giving more detailed assay/ore
settlement information. There is also Berkeley Pit ore reserve information (1959-1964). The
Reduction Department records consist of an index to some of the financial journals of
itemized expenditures which are located in Manuscript Collection 169, The Anaconda Copper
        Mining Company Records.
