<head>Scope and Content</head><p>The collection contains a 30-page handwritten manuscript by Martin G. Wenger dated 1968 about his recollections of Robert Livermore. Livermore (1876-1959) was a mining engineer and executive who engaged in mining exploration throughout the western United States, Canada, and Mexico. He was vice-president, and later president, of the Smuggler Union Mining Company, which operated the Smuggler Union Mine near Telluride, Colorado, until its closure in 1928. He was also a vice-president of North American Mines, Inc., and a partner in Hutchinson and Livermore, mining engineers, both located in Boston, Massachusetts. Wenger’s recollections about Livermore were privately printed in Colorado in 1978 in his <emph>Recollections of Telluride, 1895-1920</emph>.</p>
