He also worked at a mental hospital in Washington State (possibly Northern State) for a period of time. His papers include research material on Northwest Coast and Navajo Indians, and mental disease. The James W. Bosch papers include biographical material, lecture notes, bibliographies, articles, publications and theses on topics including political anthropology, ethnology, kinship and family organization, and Indian acculturation. There is also a substantial photographic collection documenting the American Southwest, the Pacific Northwest, Eastern Washington, and Navajos Indians. The collection also includes some material relating to mental disease.
