John G. Hagner (1927-2018) was a motion picture stuntman who doubled for such stars as Gregory Peck, Walter Pidgeon, David Hedison, and Chris Robinson. He appeared in The Great Race, The Greatest Story Ever Told, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Outer Limits, Bus Stop, and many more. Hagner authored two books about stuntmen titled Falling for Stars and The Greatest Stunts Ever. He also published a newsletter about stuntmen called Falling for Stars. He opened the First Stuntmen’s Museum in 1970 and founded the Hollywood Stuntmen’s Hall of Fame.

 Scope and Content

Collection contains biographical information; advertising brochures for the Hollywood Stuntmen’s Hall of Fame; issues of the Falling for Stars newsletter; books by Hagner; and a photograph of Bliss Glenn and Will Blythe.

There are no access restrictions on the materials for research purposes, and the collection is open to the public.
