	 	<abstract encodinganalog="5203_">Lillian Belle Disney (1889-1976) and Ray Wesley Strandberg (1889-1964) were both born and raised in Garfield, WA. The collection consists of 18 mounted photographs, most of which document Garfield, WA and the surrounding area as they existed in the early part of the 20th century, and four letters from family members living in Garfield to Ray Strandberg.</abstract>

  		<p>Lillian Belle Disney (1889-1976) and Ray Wesley Strandberg (1889-1964) were both born and raised in Garfield, WA, and were childhood friends. Ray moved to Czar, Alberta, but returned briefly to marry Lillian on July 17, 1912, after which she joined him at Czar.</p>

	 	<p>The main body of the collection is 18 mounted photographs, most of which document Garfield, WA and the surrounding area as they existed in the early part of the 20th century. Also included are four letters from family members living in Garfield to Ray Strandberg, after he'd moved to Canada.</p>

	 	<p>The photographs comprise the first four folders in the collection, organized alphabetically by subject. Following are two more folders, the first containing the Strandberg family letters, and then the other containing donor correspondence and other supplementary materials. One other photograph, of Washington State College in 1907, was removed to PC4, the WSU Historic Photographs Subject File, due to its larger size and lack of direct connection to the other materials. Discarded was a 1906 pocket calendar which had housed the four family letters but otherwise had no archival value.</p>
