      <p>Mary Elmina White (circa 1888- ) earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Washington State College in 1909 and completed her graduate study at Columbia, 1926-1927. White then became the Assistant Director for Home Economics at the University of Hawaii in 1929-1930.</p>

      <p>She later served Washington State College for 33 years, retiring in 1950, where she was the Assistant Director in Home Economics for the Washington State College Extension Service. In 1960 the WSU Home Economics Building was named White Hall in recognition of her.</p>
