  		<p>Washington State University dates to 1890, with first classwork beginning in 1892. Pending further research, the nature and breadth of the school's presentations and involvement at the 1904 and 1905 Expositions is unclear.</p>

	 	<p>The collection consists of five individual oversized certificates, each detailing awards received by Washington State College from one of two Expositions. Most are approximately 2 feet high by 1.5 feet wide. One certificate is from the 1904 Universal Exposition in St. Louis; the other four are from the 1905 Lewis and Clark Centennial Exposition in Portland, OR.</p>
