		<bioghist encodinganalog="5450_">
			<p>Willard Rhodes (1901-1992) was an ethnomusicologist from Ohio, United States. He received his BA in Music from Wittenberg University and his MA from Columbia University, where he later became a professor. He founded the graduate program in ethnomusicology at Columbia University and co-founded the Society for Ethnomusicology. He is known for his recordings of the indigenous peoples of North America from 1939 to 1952.</p>
