  		<p>Weymouth "Wey" Simpson, a 1950 graduate of Washington State College, worked for 50 years as
  			a journalist and broadcaster specializing in agricultural topics. After graduating from WSU,
  			he worked for radio stations around the Pacific Northwest until 1961, when he accepted a
  			position with KHQ in Spokane. He served as the news editor until 1966 when he became
  			director of AgriNews, focusing on agriculture and agribusiness. He continued at KHQ for 20
  			years, and moved to KAQQ radio in 1986. He was an active member of the Spokane Ag Bureau,
  			and served on a task force that was responsible for the agricultural and environmental
  			pavilion at Expo '74. He is a long-time member of the National Association of Farm
  			Broadcasters, and was inducted into the NAFB Hall of Fame in 2013. He is a recipient of the
  			Washington State University Alumni Achievement Award (1997). </p>

	 	<p>This collection consists of papers of farm journalist Weymouth "Wey" Simpson. Most of the
	 		material was collected by Simpson in conjunction with his professional activities, and the
	 		collection includes photographs, film, audio recordings, files related to a farm survey from
	 		the early 1970s, conference materials from the Pacific Northwest Farm Forum, and a small
	 		amount of printed material related to agricultural topics. </p>

	 	<p>MS-1982-26 (1 box): </p>
	 	<p>Photographs, most mounted, some with captions, showing individuals, facilities, and places.
	 		Some items are related to Washington State University. Circa 1930s-1960s. </p>
	 	<p>MS-1984-38 (2 boxes): </p>
	 	<p>Box 1: KHQ farm survey file, including two surveys from the early 1970s (completed forms
	 		and compiled data); Pacific Northwest Farm Forum file, 1954-1969; film clips, mainly federal
	 		government public service announcements on agricultural topics; USDA slide show, "The Pull
	 		of the Market Place," undated. </p>
	 	<p>Box 2: Miscellaneous publications and ephemera, including Expo '74 agriculture pavilion,
	 		statistical publications, grape boycott information kit. Also films (5 items): State 4-H
	 		Club conference, 1963; WSU Pea and Lentil Research, 1964; Morrison, Hartson, WSU Extension;
	 		Lind Dryland Experiment Station Field Day, 1965; Wey Simpson and Glen Lake, 1964. </p>
	 	<p>MS-1984-39 (1 box): Audio recordings (reel to reel), mainly public service
	 		announcements. </p>
