This collection, which dates from 1862 through 1899, also contains a land inheritance certificate and a Master Mason certificate</abstract>

         <p>The Charles Herzog Collection consists of correspondence, a diploma for Washington territory agriculture, manufacture, and art-fostering society, and a dentistry license. This collection, which dates from 1862 to 1899, also includes an Internal Revenue license, a land inheritance certificate, and a Master Mason certificate.</p>

      <bioghist encodinganalog="5450_">
    
         <p>Charles Herzog was born in Germany on April 6, 1836, and by 1861 had made his way to Walla Walla, where he opened the town's first dentistry practice. He married widow Elizabeth Burt on August 29, 1869. Herzog maintained a successful practice until his death on May 1, 1880, at the age of 44.</p>
