The Lang Syne Society of Portland, Oregon, is a fraternal organization that was founded in January 1914 by Frank Dayton (1851-1922). Dayton wanted to cement friendships between Portland businessmen. The society had 162 charter members, and its fist annual dinner was held on February 20, 1914, at the Multnomah Hotel. The society's first president was Joseph Kaye Gill (1841-1931), and Dayton was the first secretary-treasurer.
