The Church of the Creator (COTC) was a white supremacist group founded in 1973 by Ben Klassen. Following Klassen’s suicide in 1993 the group was led by Matt Hale.

This collection contains published books and a small amount of ephemera written by Ben Klassen, founder of the Church of the Creator. Also included are two contextual documents by the Montana Human Rights Network.

Researchers must use collection in accordance with the policies of Archives and Special Collections, the Maureen and Mike Mansfield Library, and The University of Montana-Missoula.

The contents in this collection were in a storage unit belonging to a member of the Church of the Creator Northwest, a splinter group of Matt Hale's World Church of the Creator, prior to being acquired by the Montana Human Rights Network in 2003.

The content in this collection was mailed to the Maureen and Mike Mansfield Library by the Montana Human Rights Network.
