History of the Sutherland Antimony Mine

The Sutherland Antimony Mine was located near Lovelocks, in Humboldt County, Nevada. It was named for owners James and Fannie Sutherland, and operated by Francis N. Gove and later Henry F. Gove. The Goves held power of attoney for the mine and were responsible for conducting almost all mining operations. Henry Gove administered operations from New York from around 1912 until his death in 1917. He hired the Lovelocks mining engineer, James T. Reid for actual on-site operations and progress reports.
