Zia Fariduddin Dagar (1932 – 2013), from Udaipur, Rajasthan, was an Indian classical vocalist belonging to the Dhrupad tradition, the oldest existing form of north Indian classical music (Hindustani classical music). He taught dhrupad for 25 years at Dhrupad Kendra, under the Ustad Allauddin Khan Music Academy, Bhopal.

Zia Mohiuddin Dagar (AKA Z. M. Dagar) (1929 – 1990), from Udaipur, Rajasthan, was a North Indian (Hindustani) classical musician. One of the 19th generation of Dagar family dhrupad musicians, he was brother and musical teacher to Zia Fariduddin Dagar. Z. M. Dagar was largely responsible for the revival of the rudra vina as a solo concert instrument. He modified the instrument to better equip it for solo performance, transforming it into a larger bass instrument (sometimes called a 'Dagar veena'): he enlarged the tumbas (gourds) and dhandhi (hollow neck) to create greater resonance and to allow the notes to sustain longer and so better reproduce the techniques used in dhrupad singing.

Manik Munde (1960-), from, Maharashtra, is one of India's leading masters of the pakhawaj, the ancient Indian barrel-drum. Early in his musical career, he studied with Bhakta Ganesh Anna Chaudhari, Pandit Mahant Amarnath Mishra, and Govind Deshmukh. Munde has accompanied many well known dhrupad artists in concerts across India and the world.
