Lambda Phi Epsilon describes itself as an international Asian interest fraternal organization, founded in 1981. In 2012, Washington State University students organized a local chapter (Alpha Zeta), and it became officially affiliated with the national organization on March 24, 2013.
The collection consists primarily of records documenting the process of official recognition of the chapter, as well as materials from the year before and after that recognition.
