Takahashi Sadazo (1910-1998), later known as Takahasi Chikuzan, was a composer and musician from Nakahiranai, Japan. At the age of two, he lost his sight as a result of contracting measles. Shortly after, he became a live-in apprentice to Toda Jujiro, a Tsugaru-jamisen performer in Nakahiranai. He traveled around performing on doorsteps to make money until gaining popularity during WWII when he accompanied the famous Tsugaru folk singer Narita Unchiku. For many years after the war he performed at a small venue in Shibuya, Tokyo called Shibuya Jean-Jean. His performances were known for their long solo improvisations. Chikuzan's legacy is maintained by his disciple Takahashi Chikuzan II, who continues to perform his music.
