Crater Lake Lodge was built in 1915 to provide overnight accommodations for visitors to Crater Lake National Park in southern Oregon. The Lodge is located at the rim of the Crater Lake Caldera. By 1989 the lodge was on the verge of collapsing and was scheduled for demolition. It was saved by public outcry. The reconstruction followed, and the Lodge was once again open for business in 1995. The modern lodge is designed to be reminiscent of the original 1920's rustic atmosphere but with modern comforts.
The collection donated by the Park historian, Stephen R. Mark, holds documents related to the proposed restoration and remodel of the Lodge in 1990s.
