The collection consists of a single blank ballot for use in the Granite Precinct of Grant County, Oregon, for the election on November 6, 1900. The ballot is specifically for the election of Oregon's four members of the Electoral College, who would then choose the United States president and vice president. The ballot lists four candidates for each of the five political parties running candidates for president and vice president: The Republican Party, the Democratic-People's Party, the Prohibition Party, the Regular People's Party, and the Social Democratic Party. The ballot also lists the names of the presidential and vice presidential candidate of each party. One of the Democratic-People's Party electors on the ballot is future Oregon Governor Walter M. Pierce. The ballot instructs voters to vote for four electors.
