History of Black Lives Matter Protests

The Black Lives Matter Protests was a series of public
demonstrations organized in order to draw attention to criminal justice and racial justice
issues around the state. For months, the Laramie Human Rights Network organized daily demonstrations,
letter wiriting sessions, fundraisers, and other community events to educate and advocate
for reform and justice. Demonstrations erupted initially as a response to the murder of
George Floyd, continued as a call for justice for Laramie's Robbie Ramirez and all other
victims of police brutality.
