As the first ordained Orthodox rabbi in the city of Seattle, Rabbi Halpern served at Congregation Bikur Cholim-Machzikay Hadath from 1905 until 1919, when he accepted a pulpit in Mount Vernon, New York. In 1913, Rabbi Halpern published the Hebrew work "Me Geve".
