The collection consists of pages from a scrapbook (both original pages and preservation photocopies) documenting the efforts of the Greater Portland Women's Bowling Association to have the Women's International Bowling Congress Championship Tournament held in Portland, Oregon. The scrapbook also documents the tournament itself. The scrapbook covers the period from 1962, when the Greater Portland Women's Bowling Association began its lobbying efforts, to October 1965, a few months after the 1965 tournament had concluded, and is made up of newspaper and magazine clippings, ephemera, photographs, and correspondence. The majority of clippings are from the Oregonian, the Oregon Journal, The Woman Bowler, and the Oregon Bowler, though other publications from Oregon and elsewhere in the United States are represented. Many of the scrapbook's photographs have captions glued onto or beside them. Correspondence in the collection includes letters from Women's International Bowling Congress officials, Oregon Governor Mark Hatfield, and multiple Oregon mayors. The collection also holds the scrapbook's original wooden front cover, which is decorated with the seal of the 1965 tournament.
