		  correspondence, legal documents, and journal of a Civil War soldier</abstract></did><bioghist encodinganalog="5450_" id="a2"><p>Civil War soldier.</p><p>Andrew Anphin Brown was born March 27, 1841, in Norway. He served with
		  H Company, 15th Regiment, Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry, Grand Army of the
		  Republic. He entered as a private in December, 1961, was commissioned a 1st Lt.
		  in January, 1862, and a Captain in June, 1863. He was wounded in battle, but
		  continued serving until he was discharged in February, 1865. In 1887 he was
		  appointed by the Governor of Minnesota to a two year term as one of the
		  trustees of the Minnesota Soldiers' Home. He later moved to Port Williams
		  (Clallam County) Washington, where he died on December 1, 1912.</p></bioghist><scopecontent><p>Correspondence, photographs, legal documents, Civil war letters and
