The Quaker Oats Company was founded in 1877 in Ravenna, Ohio. In 1881, Henry Crowell bought the company and began a spirited advertising campaign. The “Quaker man” was added to the packaging in to early twentieth century, and the company’s iconic cylindrical packaging was introduced in 1915. Today, the company is based in Chicago, Illinois.
Collection contains annual reports of the Quaker Oats Company, the certificate of incorporation, publications of the company, and a book by Arthur F. Marquette titled Brands, Trademarks and Good Will.
There are no access restrictions on the materials for research purposes, and the collection is open to the public.
