         <p>Max Loudon worked for nine years at the Schwabacher Bros. Wholesale Grocers and became warehouse superintendent for the Grocetaria Stores in Seattle. Among his interests were amateur boxing at the Seattle Athletic Club, fencing, and marksmanship.</p>

         <p>Album with 442 black and white photographs reflecting the personal interests and activities of Max Loudon, ca. 1910-1920. The album depicts various activities in Seattle, Washington, the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia. Images include: Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul/Chicago, Milwaukee and Puget Sound RR (pp.1-5); skating on Greenlake (pp. 6, 66); Miles City Roundup, Montana (pp. 7-12); Butte, Montana (p. 21); Mount Rainier National Park (pp. 29-32, 43-44); "Preparedness Day Parade," probably Seattle (pp. 34, 36-38, 45); workers at the Grocetaria Store (pp. 39-40); Volunteer Park (p. 40); Spanish influenza epidemic, 1918 (p. 41); employees of the Stewart and Holmes Drugstore (PP. 46-47); Lake Keechelus (p. 52); Columbia River Highway, Crown Point (pp. 55-56); Lincoln Hotel Fire, 1920 (p. 68); Canadian Pacific RR in British Columbia (p. 72); Victoria, B.C. (p. 74); Niagara Falls (p. 78). Additional images include: nurses; women in working dress; actors and actresses (possibly connected to Metropolitan Theatre: "Very Good Eddie" and "Chu Chin Chow", "Streets of Cairo"). Persons noted: Arch Frizzell, Hazel Galloway, Mabel Loudon, Lena Miller, Isabel Dow, Irma Chase.</p>
