The U.S.S. Utah, a battleship first launched in 1909, was the first U.S. Navy ship to be names for the state of Utah. It was converted to a target ship in 1931 in accordance with the London Naval Treaty. In 1938, the year the bulletin of this collection was issued, the U.S.S. Utah was serving as a training vessel in the Pacific. It was sunk in the attack on Pearl Harbor.
The U.S.S. Utah Radio Press News consists of four mimeographed sheets discussing international and domestic news transmitted via wireless. The newsletter was created on April 8, 1938.
